GIFT VOUCHERS
After purchasing online or by telephone, you will receive either a gift voucher entitling the holder to 4, 5 or 10 hours driving tuition with an L Plates driving instructor (in this case the cost of the voucher is not stated upon it) or vouchers in £10 denominations. All vouchers have an expiry date of at least 3 months from the time of purchase so to ensure the availability of an instructor in your area. Lessons must commence before the expiry date. Once you are ready to book your first lesson, please telephone our FREEPHONE number and we will arrange for an instructor to contact you. Please allow 1-3 working days for delivery of gift vouchers.
DRIVING LESSONS PAID FOR ONLINE
Following receipt of a fully paid order for driving lessons, an instructor will contact you within 24 hours to arrange driving lessons, unless you are already taking lessons with us. If this is the case the lessons will be credited to your account. We accept all major credit cards except American Express.
LESSON CANCELLATIONS
Must be made 48 hours before the time of the lesson or the normal lesson fee will be charged, unless a doctors certificate can be produced. The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice if it is suspected that the pupil may be unfit to drive due to the effects of alcohol, drugs (prescribed or otherwise) or any other condition that would cause his/her driving to be illegal. In such circumstances the lesson fee will be payable. Your instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons in certain circumstances i.e. dangerous weather conditions, mechanical breakdown or illness. In the event of postponment, fees paid in advance will be carried forward.
SPECIAL OFFERS
The 1st 4 hours for £40 & 1st 5 hours for £60 are introductory offers and one offer (not both) can be used once per pupil. Non beginners '2 hours for the price of 1' is available to those who have driven a car before for the first assessment lesson. The hourly rate, normally for one hour for the relevant zone will be payable. 2 hours tuition must be taken together to form one lesson. As an alternative non beginners can choose to buy 4 hours for £60. The first 4 hours of an introductory offer must be taken in 2 hour blocks. 'Buy 9, get 1 FREE' is valid when block booking 10 hours only, this offer can be repeated where appropriate. All block bookings must be paid for in advance to receive a discount.
BEGINNERS - 1ST 4 HOURS FOR £40 or 1ST 5 HOURS FOR £60
Either of these offers is only redeemable once to pupils intending on taking a course of lessons. A beginner being someone who has never driven on the road.
THE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR
is a self-employed independent driving instructor and all lessons booked with him/her introduced through L PLATES constitute an agreement between the instructor and the pupil. L Plates Driving School Ltd. will not be held liable for any disputes or refunds.
£10 CASH
after the introduction of a friend will only be granted after completion of 6 lessons by the friend. Friends can be recommended by current or past pupils and lessons must be taken with the same L Plates instructor, otherwise the offer will not apply.
DRIVING LICENCES & FITNESS TO DRIVE
You must hold a current, valid driving licence, provisional, full or international and produce it on your first training session. You must be fit to drive with regard to legal and medical requirements.
DRIVING TESTS
The instructor reserves the right to withdraw their car for tests without notice should the pupil prove not to be of a test standard. While your instructor will make every effort to ensure that the vehicle supplied for test will be fully road worthy and comply with all legal requirements at the start of the test, he/she cannot be held responsible for vehicle failure that occurs during the test and is not liable for consequential loss. Your instructor cannot be held responsible for test appointments cancelled by the DSA due to bad weather, sickness, staff shortages or other reasons. Such cancellations are beyond the control of your instructor and therefore the lesson fee and ‘use of car’ fee for the booked period will be charged. Your instructor will advise you about claiming compensation from the DSA.
TRAINING LOCATION
All sessions will start and finish at the same location unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. The instructor will determine a location for practical lessons which ensures both the pupil’s and public safety - this means that the instructor may need to drive the pupil to and from the lesson location; this journey time forms part of the lesson as paid for.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Your personal information is held on a secure server and L Plates Driving School will only use your personal information to process your order. We will not pass your details on to other parties other than your driving instructor (if applicable) unless required to in order to comply with laws or regulations of the Government or other relevant regulatory body.
GENERAL
Terms & Conditions are stated to avoid misunderstanding and do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
Complaints by clients should be made in the first instance to the driving instructor. Failing a satisfactory outcome, to the driving school in writing or by telephoning the free phone number. Failing agreement or settlement of a dispute, reference may be made to the Driving Standards Agency's Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors, who will consider the matter and advise accordingly.
