Once you have started your driving lessons with L Plates, you will receive a FREE subscription which will give you access to the full version of the software.
In addition, you will receive a copy of our FREE PDF file giving you illustrated lesson back up for each subject covered throughout your course of driving lessons. These are very useful for going away and reading up on what you have learned or about to learn during your lesson. Sometimes there is alot to take in and during a lesson, you may think 'how an I ever going to remember all of this'. With the FREE illustrated lesson back up, you can digest your lessons at your own speed, it also helps you to remember more information, therefore learning will take place quicker.
Since 1996 all candidates wanting to take a practical driving test have first had to pass a theory test. To take the test the candidate has to answer 50 questions and get a minimum of 43 correct to pass.
 In addition, since November 2002, candidates must also pass the Hazard Perception test. This test is run straight after the theory part of the examination has finished, and consists of 14 video clips, each 1 minute long. In the clips there are 15 hazards (1 clip will have two hazards but the candidate will not know which one). The candidate must spot the developing hazard at the earliest opportunity to pass.
The two tests count as one examination. If one test is failed, then the candidate will have to re-take them both.
There are 158 centres throughout the U.K, administered on behalf of the DSA, conducting a computer based 'touch screen' test.
